Sumeru Within

One wood, drawn into a continuous path.

Indian old-growth sandalwood is shaped as a binder-free coil for sustained attention—dense yet calm, evenly warm, with a dry finish that stays after the flame has gone.

Sumeru Within material and object study

CORE BENEFITS

WHY THIS FORM

Three reasons to live with it.

01Single-wood focus

The composition keeps sandalwood alone at the centre, without floral or resinous distraction.

02Sustained attention

The continuous coil is made for longer reading, practice and quiet work.

03Dry, even warmth

Its warmth is steady rather than sweet, leaving a clean wooden trace.

Heart: Indian old-growth sandalwood · creamy density

Drydown: Quiet timber · clean lingering wood

Atmosphere: Centred, steady and contemplative

HANDCRAFTED PROCESS & MATERIAL PROVENANCE

THE WORK · THE SOURCE

Made by hand. Kept close to material.

THE WORKSHOP

Hand rolling incenseNatural incense materials

01Study one material

The sandalwood is assessed for warmth, density and a clean dry finish.

02Draw the line

The binder-free paste is worked into a continuous coil with measured spacing.

03Settle the form

Each coil dries slowly and is handled only when its structure is stable.

MATERIAL TRACE

Indian old-growth sandalwood: The sole stated aromatic material, selected for calm warmth and a dry persistent finish.

Binder-free coil: A continuous form that keeps attention on the natural wood profile.

FOUNDER INSPIRATION & THOUGHT

FROM THE FOUNDER

The thought behind the scent.

Inspiration: The coil reminded me of a path that returns without repeating itself. I kept the formula to one wood so the experience could become deeper through duration, not through complexity.

Founder thought: “Sustained attention does not need many materials; it needs one material given enough time.”

USE SCENES & CARE

LIVE WITH IT

Use gently. Keep it well.

01Long reading

Place at the centre of a ventilated room and let the scent arrive gradually.

02Quiet practice

Use when movement is minimal and attention needs a stable background.

03A room at rest

Allow the dry sandalwood trace to remain after the coil is extinguished.

CARE NOTE

  • Support the full coil when lifting it.
  • Use only with a heat-safe coil holder and adequate ventilation.
  • Store flat, sealed and dry to protect the continuous form.
